Monaluce Keratin Hair Care Product

Should I cut my hair before the treatment?

You can trim or shape around the face or length. Layered hair freshly cut might lie too blunt after treatment. Hair clips should not be used right after treatment. You can go through a haircut and trim off any uneven ends if needed.

Can I wear a ponytail or tie my hair?

No, not until 3 days after treatment.

Can I go into the pool or ocean after the treatment?

Yes, you can. We recommend using cosmetic oil on your hair to protect the treatment from water chemicals or natural elements that could strip it away.

The whole head.

Can I do the Keratin treatment after henna?

Henna and keratin treatments can sometimes interact in ways that affect the results. Here’s a general guideline:

  1. Natural Henna: If the henna used was 100% natural, pure henna without any added chemicals, then a keratin treatment can usually be done safely. Pure henna coats the hair shaft without causing any adverse reactions with keratin treatments.
  2. Compound Henna: If the henna used contained metallic salts or other additives (common in some commercial henna products), then a keratin treatment might cause an adverse reaction. Metallic salts can react with the ingredients in keratin treatments, leading to damage or unpredictable results.

Steps to Take:

  • Strand Test: Before proceeding with the full treatment, perform a strand test. Apply the keratin treatment to a small section of hair to observe any adverse reactions.
  • Consult Product Instructions: Check the instructions for both the henna and keratin treatment products. Some manufacturers provide specific guidance on compatibility.
  • Consult the Client: Ask the client about the exact type of henna used and when it was applied. This information can help you make a more informed decision.

If in doubt, it’s best to wait at least 4-6 weeks after henna application before doing a keratin treatment, and always perform a strand test first to ensure there are no adverse reactions.
